Shelly Berven, LICSW
I am a white, cisgender woman who brings many years of experience working with folks across multiple settings across the lifespan. I consider myself a generalist, having worked in hospitals, schools, clients’ homes, and outpatient clinics with clients aged 8-88. I am trained as a family systems therapist and see our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors as part of a complex system of connectedness and interdependence shaped by our earliest relationships and environments.
I currently treat older adolescents, emerging adults, adults, and families for issues related to generalized anxiety, depressive and bipolar disorders, relational conflicts, and general dissatisfaction with one’s current life as it is. I strongly believe that life does not always provide us with all we want or deserve, and that it is what we do with what we’ve got that counts the most.
I have a BA in Psychology from Macalester College and a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from the University of Minnesota. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Arizona.
